St. George’s Community Center is a vital hub for formation, empowerment, and enrichment in the heart of the community. Situated at the intersection of the California, Park Hill, and Parkland Neighborhoods, St. George’s Community Center has served its community since 1924. Its services include:
Dare to Care Food Distribution
Tuesdays, from 10AM-12PM, all are welcome to get fresh produce, breads, sweets, other foods and drinks. Bring your own bags or cart to transport your food home or to your car.
Thursdays, from 10AM-12PM, pantry staples like canned and boxed food are distributed to qualified people.
The second Tuesday of each month, from 10AM-12PM, Federal Commodities (CSFP) boxes are distributed to qualified senior citizens.
Recovery Programs
“Upon Awakening” is an Alcoholic Anonymous (AA) meditation group. It meets each week on Wednesdays at 10:30AM in the Tachau House.
“We Stopped in Time” is a beginner’s AA meeting for young people. It meets each week on Wednesdays at 5:30PM in the Community Center Loft.
“Living Proof” is a group of people who have turned their lives around. They meet to share their stories and build community. Meeting time is 2PM on Saturdays in the Tachau House.

Laundry Love Vouchers
Each month a limited supply of vouchers becomes available that can be redeemed at Laundry Connection, located at 28th and Broadway.
The vouchers are typically given away during Dare to Care distribution times. (See Dare to Care above)
Ministry Support
All programming is supported by the Episcopal Diocese of Kentucky and its church, St. George’s Episcopal Church. Our church gathers for worship on Sundays (except the fourth Sunday in even months) at 11AM. All are welcome to join our services.
