Division of Peace & Justice
Mission
The mission of the Division is to support members of our diocese as they strive for justice and peace among all people, and to respect the dignity of every human being.
Some Current Areas of Concern
Compassion
Compassion is a common ground and the unifying force in our polarized world. Compassion moves us to work tirelessly to alleviate the suffering of our neighbors, to remove ourselves from the center of our world and put another there, and to respect the dignity of every human being, treating everybody, without exception, with justice, equity and respect.
Our Journey Into Compassion Study Guide is a study series on compassion using the book Compassion: A Reflection on the Christian Life by Nouwen, McNeill and Morrison. The series is divided into six, one hour sessions, making it fitting for a Lenten study series. The goal is to deepen our practice of compassion toward one another and the world.
