The Order of the Daughters of the King

The Order of the Daughters of the King (DOK) is a spiritual sisterhood of women dedicated to a life of Prayer, Service and Evangelism. We have made a commitment to Jesus as our Savior. In the midst of our daily lives, we find community and spiritual support in Chapters formed in churches across our diocese and under the support of their local clergy. Our membership includes women in the Anglican, Episcopal, Lutheran (ELCA), and Roman Catholic churches. We are made up of over 25,000 Daughters of the King in the United States and 5,000 additional international Daughters in eighteen countries from around the world.

Empowered by the Holy Spirit, our vision is to know Jesus Christ, to make Him known to others, and to become reflections of God's love throughout the world. Since its founding in 1885, each member of the order has dedicated herself to the extension of Christ's kingdom and the strengthening of her own spiritual life and that of her parish.

Our Motto

For His Sake…
I am but one, but I am one.
I cannot do everything, but I can do something.
What I can do, I ought to do.
What I ought to do, by the grace of God I will do.
Lord, what will you have me
