St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, 330 N. Hubbards Lane, Louisville, will celebrate the feast of St. Matthew the Evangelist with a community picnic on the church grounds on Sunday, Sept. 27.
The picnic will begin about 11:15 a.m. (E.T.) after the 10 a.m. Eucharist. Parishioners are asked to bring a side dish or dessert (nothing that needs refrigeration).
If you've been an occasional or one-time visitor to St. Matthew's, this would be a great time to visit, renew old acquaintances and make new friends.
Blessing of the Animals at St. Matthew's
In celebration of the feast day of Francis of Assisi, St. Matthew's Episcopal Church will celebrate its annual Blessing of the Animals on the church grounds on Sunday, Oct. 4, at 3 p.m.
A friendly menagerie of animals will be there - last year's blessings even included a horse! If your pets are too shy to enjoy a crowd, feel free to come yourself, join in the spirit of the occasion and take a blessing home.
