Diocesan News & Publications

St. Martin’s in the Fields Church in Mayfield, which closed in 2006, will open its doors once again for noon prayers, bible study and outreach this week.

Beginning Nov. 21, noon prayers and bible study will be offered at the church on the third Friday of each month in the church's former library.

The Episcopal church in Mayfield has continued to be a presence in Mayfield since the building was closed two years ago. Members of St. John's Church in Murray regularly provide donations to the Mayfield Food Pantry and Need Line, and they have helped with Habitat for Humanity building projects.

Recent action by the diocese's Trustees and Council has made it possible for St. Martin's to support another community program: the Community Christmas Connection will house its toy store for needy children residing in Mayfield and Graves County. The store will operate Dec. 8-12 throughout the day and some evenings. Last year 436 families with 929 children received gifts through the program.
