St. John's trees downed by storm

Straight-line, 100 mph winds downed trees and power lines early this morning, causing widespread power outages in Calloway County and Murray, where St. John's Episcopal Church is located.

Sixty to 70 percent of Murray and more than 60 percent of the county were without power as of 4:30 a.m., and officials reported it may take one to two days to restore power to everyone, according to news reports from the area. St. John's was still without power late this morning, according to Allbritten.
