Loading...St John's Church in Murray is again participating in the building of Habitat Homes in Mayfield. St John's youth who are at least 16, adult men and women have been actively involved in the building of the last three homes in Mayfield.
In July, St John's Church volunteers were joined this year by 12 summer camp counselors from All Saints’ Camp and Conference Center in Leitchfield. The group stayed at St. John’s and was fed by the members of the congregation. Each day they traveled to Mayfield for work on two Habitat for Humanity homes- one nearing completion and the second home in the early stages of interior framing and exterior siding. Throughout the summer, Mayfield Habitat has work days scheduled every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday mornings. Volunteers are welcome and needed each and every workday to work alongside the homeowners and under the supervision of retired carpenters, plumbers and electricians. Members of St. John’s, area community groups and church groups from as far away as Marion, Ohio, labor through the summer to complete these two homes.
