Loading...The Bishop Search and Transition Committee has now published online a series of reflections by each of the four nominees for the eighth bishop of Kentucky.
The nominees (pictured above left to right) are the Rev. David Boyd, rector of St. David's Episcopal Church, Austin, in the Diocese of Texas; the Very Rev. John Paul Downey, dean of the Cathedral of Saint Paul in Erie, in the Diocese of Northwestern Pa.; the Very Rev. W. Nicholas Knisely, dean of Trinity Cathedral, Phoenix, in the Diocese of Arizona; and the Very Rev. Terry Allen White, dean of Grace and Holy Trinity Cathedral, Kansas City, in the Diocese of West Missouri.
The Bishop Search Web site notes that a total of six reflections were written by the nominees over the past several months in response to requests from the Search/Nominating Committee.
According to the the Web site, the committee initially requested two reflections from the nominees. The first addresses the nominees' work history and ministry specialties, and the second explores "the opportunities they see for the Diocese in relation to their personal strengths and interests."
"Later in the process, the nominees were asked to prepare four reflections derived from the ordinal for the ordination of a bishop from The Book of Common Prayer," the Web site reports.
