Church Publishing Incorporated (CPI), publisher for the Episcopal Church, has successfully implemented several new strategic initiatives in 2011 utilizing social media, several linked websites and related online communications vehicles.
In January, Church Publishing launched a new corporate fan page on Facebook. Friends of Church Publishing are encouraged to search for it on Facebook and "like" the new page - which will provide an official source of regular updates on business activities, plus new books and resources. (The Church Publishing Facebook page joins similar fan pages developed earlier for company affiliate, Morehouse Education Resources, plus Weaving God's Promises, Morehouse's three-year downloadable Episcopal curriculum for children ages 3-11. Similarly, active Facebook "group" pages currently exist for Church Publishing's Christian formation textbook, Prayer Book Guide to Christian Education, plus the best-selling lectionary-based curriculum, Living the Good News. )
Also newly completed is a major improvement of the Morehouse Education website, located at www.morehouseeducation.org and now featuring a clean, crisp design, improved navigation, and easier ordering. Anchoring the newly enhanced site are the Morehouse curricula, Living the Good News, All Things New, and Let the Children Come. 2011-2012 materials for Living the Good News are newly posted and available now for purchase on the site. The MER site also provides a network of links: to the separate website for Weaving God's Promises; to related books and program resources on the corporate Church Publishing website (www.churchpublishing.org), plus to the free Living IN Formation email newsletter by Christian Formation Specialist Sharon Pearson and the recently launched Building Faith ecumenical blog for Christian educators and clergy. In February, the Rev. Stephanie Spellers is joining the discussion on Building Faith as a new contributor.
Founded in 1918, Church Publishing is the publisher of official worship materials, books, and music for the Episcopal Church, plus a multi-faceted publisher and supplier to the broader ecumenical marketplace. Publishing imprints include Church Publishing, Morehouse Publishing and Seabury Books. Additional divisions include Morehouse Church Supplies, a provider of clergy shirts and church supplies, and Morehouse Education Resources, which produces lectionary-based curriculum, faith formation programs, plus e-publishing resources and services. Tear sheets and/or advance notice of publication is encouraged and appreciated.
