Prayer for the People of Sudan

Diocesan News & Publications

The churches and people of the Diocese of Kentucky are asked to join with the people of Resurrection Church, Louisville, in offering the following prayer continually through the time of the Sudanese election and referendum, January 9, 2011:

We pray for the people of Sudan. Gracious Savior stand with them as they face violence, displacement and death and comfort those who grieve. May Your Spirit guide those who work for peace, those who seek to implement peace agreements and those who make decisions for the future of this great nation and its people. May the killing and violence stop. May your peace with justice prevail. May those who hunger be fed. Lord, touch the hearts and minds of the nations of the world so that they will respond with wisdom and compassion. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.
