Loading...Pictures taken by Don Vish at Friday evening's walkabout at Grace Episcopal Church in Hopkinsville have been posted on our Flickr site. About 100 people attended the sessions. The four nominees and their spouses, driven by members of the Bishop Search and Transition Committee, began the journey west after breakfast at All Saints Conference Center. They went to Paducah, where they toured the Seamen's Church Institute's training center for mariners and then to Grace Episcopal Church in Paducah for lunch.
The caravan of four cars then went to Murray, where they visited Angel's Attic, a thrift store begun by St. John's Episcopal Church that has raised more than $900,000 in nine years to help support Angel's Community Clinic for the uninsured. Afterwards they drove to Canterbury House, where they visited with Western Kentucky students and Episcopal chaplain, the Rev. Matt Bradley, who also gave them a tour of St. John's Church, where he also serves as the rector.
The group then traveled to Hopkinsville, which included driving through a storm with golf-ball sized (it felt like baseball sized) hail and had little time to spare before they left for dinner at Grace and the walkabout sessions.

On Saturday, the group travels to Glasgow to visit the Bounty of the Barrens, a farmers' market that was begun by St. Andrew's Episcopal Church and is part of the sustainable Glasgow movement. They will return to Louisville, where they will meet with Bishop Ted Gulick and his wife, Barbara, before the second (and final) walkabout sessions.
