Peacemaking Retreat at All Saints’ Center in Leitchfield.

From Friday, June 8, until Sunday, June 10, the Peace and Justice Division of the Diocese of Kentucky will hold a Peacemaking Retreat at All Saints’ Center in Leitchfield.


Beginning at 10 a.m. Friday, the retreat is held conjunction with the Episcopal Peace Fellowship and is using materials developed by the Fellowship or Reconciliation. Participants will explore the meaning and power of non-violence as it might be practiced in the 21st century. Study opens by defining “violence” and continues with the introduction of the idea of “active non-violence” and its relationship to bringing about social change and community building.

The retreat concludes on Sunday with a period devoted to planning for action: considering concrete issues of injustice and violence in the participants’ own communities and identifying tools for the creation of a just and non-violent society here and now.
