P'tricia Egbert, administrative assistant at Christ Church Cathedral in Louisville, has been named to the Episcopal Young Adult Delegation to the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women.

The Commission on the Status of Women meets each year and is a functional commission of the United Nations Economic and Social Council. The conference is dedicated exclusively to exploring topics related to general equality and the advancement of women. This year it will meet March 1-6.

More than 70 young adults applied for the delegation’s coveted 10 spots. Egbert will join young adults from Kansas, Alabama, Florida, New Hampshire, Hawaii, California, Arizona and Michigan. With delegates from other Christian dominations, they will participate in training sessions, forums, worship services and other events, exploring gender and equality issues through the lens of not only of justice and international cooperation but also Christian vocation. The young adult delegation will be in New York City for two weeks.

The Office for Young Adult and Campus Ministries joins with the Episcopal Church Center to sponsor this year’s delegation and will cover the cost of housing for the delegates.
