If any of you know of a church looking to donate old vestments and altar hangings to a good cause, look no further.
The Diocese of Western New York reports that a group of faithful women at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Westfield, New York, can use them.
The group converts old altar hangings and vestments into new garments, designing and sewing mostly priest and deacon stoles. Proceeds from the sale of the new items go to the church's bell tower restoration fund. The group recently exhausted its salvaged collection of embellishments and other usable materials gleaned from previously donated items and is seeking donations.
For more information, you may contact the group through St. Peter's at 12 Elm St., Westfield, NY 14787 or by calling 716-326-2064.
