The four nominees for the eighth bishop of the Diocese of Kentucky are arriving this afternoon for a four-day visit to introduce them to Kentucky Episcopalians.

The nominees have been invited to participate in two "walkabouts," a traditional event in bishop searches providing an opportunity for the clergy and diocesan deputies participating in the election to meet, question and hear from the nominees before the electing convention meets. On Friday and Saturday, before the evening walkabouts, they will travel to the western part of the diocese to visit congregations and ministries in Paducah, Murray and Glasgow. They will spend their first evening in the diocese at All Saints' Conference Center, located on Rough River Lake near Leitchfield.

The first walkabout will take place on Friday, May 14, beginning at 7 p.m. (CT), at Grace Episcopal Church in Hopkinsville, and the second will be held on Saturday, May 15, beginning at 5 p.m. (ET), at Christ Church Cathedral, Louisville.

Complete details about the walkabouts may be found at the Bishop Search and Transition Committee's website and in a bulletin insert they have published and distributed to the congregations.  Profiles of the nominees and their reflections in response to questions from committee may also be found on their website.
