New consciousness workshop set Oct. 18

Drawing upon Eckhart Tolle’s new book, "A New Earth," Joan Kincade, M.A., a therapist and spiritual counselor, will lead a workshop on “Awakening; A New Consciousness,” co-sponsored by St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, Louisville, and Interfaith Paths to Peace. The workshop will meet from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (ET) Saturday, Oct. 18, at St. Matthew’s, 330 N. Hubbards Lane.

Tolle's book has caused quite a stir. More than two million people from 139 countries participated in his web-based seminar with Oprah. Throughout the world enthusiastic groups are learning to live in the awakened state Tolle describes - a state based on acceptance, enjoyment and enthusiasm.

The workshop will be based on the practices of visualization, living in the Now, learning deep spaciousness and detachment - practices Tolle suggests for awakening and creating a new consciousness.
