Loading...Amazing Kids Christian Academy is a dream come true for a young college graduate in education who wanted to be a child care provider and start her own school, and it may, in turn, help St. Alban's Episcopal Church in Fern Creek fulfill one of its mission dreams.
The new academy is the dream of Patricia Mitchell, who has a Bachelor of Science in elementary education (1-8) and a proven record of being an outstanding teacher. She is not a total stranger to St. Alban's. She was on the staff of St. Alban's Child Care Center in the 1990's.
Having heard that St. Alban's had closed its child care center last fall, she approached St. Alban's vestry with her proposal for a scripture-based, Christ-centered child care center there. After some consultation with other education professionals and the vice-chancellor, the vestry approved the proposal and recently signed a lease agreement with Mitchell.
Serving infants and children from six weeks old to age 12, Amazing Kids will open June 1, operating from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. (EDT) Monday through Friday. Through this new partnership in mission, St. Alban's is hoping to extend its ministry to its neighborhood and even to the larger community.
