Loading...Cultivating Connections, a Louisville-based grass-roots not-for-profit organization, is set to celebrate 20 years of hosting lectures, classes, workshops and conferences related to "the creation of a just and sustainable community by nurturing and celebrating our connections with each other and with our world." The celebration takes place on Friday evening, February 18, 2011, with a reception and lecture featuring author and theologian Matthew Fox.
"I was really surprised to realize that it had been almost 20 years since I joined forces with a couple of friends to bring Matthew Fox to Louisville for a lecture and workshop exploring creation spirituality in May of 1991" said Cultivating Connections Director Mark Steiner.
"When I started thinking about everything we had presented, promoted, created and cosponsored over the years, I realized there was, unquestionably, a heritage worth celebrating" See below for a timeline sampling of our events and activities.
"There have been so many wonderful people supporting and engaging in this exploration of our deep connections with each other and with the natural world, and we see this as an opportunity to gather many of them together to celebrate 20 years of 'cultivating connections.' Having Matthew Fox here with us is icing on the cake and a real honor."
The reception, which begins at 5:30 p.m. (EST), and lecture will be at Thomas Jefferson Unitarian Church, 4936 Brownsboro Road, Louisville. The lecture, "The Divine Feminine and the Sacred Masculine: The Sacred Marriage Resurrected - A Talk with Matthew Fox," will begin at 7:30.
Donations of $10-$50 are suggested for the lecture, and $75 (and up) for the reception and preferred seating at the lecture.

Cultivating Connections affirms and explores the connections between environmental sustainability, social justice and spiritual fulfillment, and the role we each are called to play in bringing forth a vibrant earth community. The organization offers workshops, study groups, retreats, conferences, sacred celebrations and other programs around the themes of environmental spirituality, personal empowerment and the new cosmology.
