On Sunday, June 12, 2011, St. Matthew's Episcopal and Holy Trinity Catholic churches in Louisville will celebrate the 35th anniversary of their covenant relationship.
The covenant between the two churches was signed May 16, 1976, in which the clergy and laity pledged to undertake several activities, including to pray for each other at Sunday services, dialogue between congregations for better mutual understanding, attend each others services and join in meeting areas of need outside our parishes.
Thanks to the outstanding contributions of volunteer time and financial help from our congregations, the parishes have been able to finance and build multiple Habitat for Humanity homes, and to support with significant number of volunteers the Every One Reads program of the Jefferson County Public School system.
