LESSONS AND CAROLS: PRAYING FOR PEACE

The choirs of the Cathedral of the Assumption and Christ Church Cathedral will join in presenting music for the Advent season at a service of Lessons and Carols at 5 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 17, at Christ Church Episcopal Cathedral in Louisville.

The service will include specific prayers for peace in the Church, the nation and the world.  The choirs will sing both separately and together throughout the service and the congregation will participate through the singing of carols and hymns of the season.  This will be a unique opportunity to participate in ecumenical prayer and musical offering at a time when we may be otherwise distracted from God’s presence.  Please join directors Robert L. Boozman and Philip Brisson as these covenant partner cathedrals continue their yearly tradition.  

A reception will follow the service at which CD’s of both choirs will be available for purchase.  Christ Church Cathedral is located at 421 S. 2nd Street in downtown Louisville, and is handicapped accessible.  The service is free and open to all.   Please call 502-587-1354 for further information or visit www.christchurchlouky.org .
