The Episcopal Church of the Advent, 901 Baxter Avenue will present Perspectives on Prison Ministry: a Lenten Lecture Series every other Wednesday during Lent – on the dates of March 12, March 26 and April 9. All lectures will be Wednesdays 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the church Vestry Room. The lectures are free and open to the public.
The series will feature three presenters on prison ministry issues: Dr. Steve Cook, Church of the Advent parishioner, on Prison in the Bible, on March 12, Dr. Ida Dickie of Spalding University speaking on Restorative Justice and Compassion on March 26, and Donald Vish, lawyer, director of advocacy and board member, Kentucky Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty, with a session about Christian Perspectives on the Death Penalty on April 9.
