For his first Holy Week with us in the Diocese of Kentucky, Bishop Terry White will participate in all liturgies at Christ Church Cathedral, 421 S. Second St., Louisville, beginning with the Liturgy of the Palms at 10 a.m. (EDT) Sunday, April 17, and ending with the Easter Day Festival Eucharist with choir, organ and brass at 10 a.m. (EDT) April 24.
The cathedral has several Holy Week events and services scheduled throughout the week, including Maundy Thursday (April 21), Good Friday (April 22) and Holy Saturday (April 23). This year the cathedral has planned three hours of worship and reflection on Good Friday to mark the crucifixion and death of Christ, and the traditional Great Vigil of Easter will begin at 8:30 p.m. Saturday, April 23. For details about these services and others, visit the cathedral website.
Of course, all of our 34 congregations in the western half of Kentucky will be holding Holy Week services, and so the diocesan website has published an online calendar of Holy Week services for visitors who may be searching online for a local service to attend. If your church is not listed, please consider sending its Holy Week schedule to maryjane@episcopalky.org If you are a visitor and want to locate a nearby Episcopal Church, click on this link to Find A Church. You can search for a church by name, town or zip code, and you will find a list of churches with access to directions, a website link and contact information.
