Heschel-Merton Pilgrimage Urban Prayer Walk

The five-day pilgrimage, sponsored by Interfaith Paths to Peace, went to key places in Louisville that deal with the consequences of violence and poverty. The conference opened at Christ Church Cathedral on Oct. 11 and ended Oct. 15 at Louisville Central Park with reflections from Margie Hunt, a survivor of the bombing of Hiroshima, and philanthropist Lee B. Thomas, Jr., one of the first Americans to enter Hiroshima after the bombing. More than 30 organizations representing a wide range of religious, social and philanthropic affiliations supported the event.
