Furniture and household items are needed

Kentucky Refugee Ministries needs your help. Its supply of furniture and household items is running low.

There is currently a great need for basic furniture such as kitchen tables and chairs, dressers, sofas, living room chairs, small tables, single and double mattress sets, bed frames, and lamps in good repair.

Also needed are household goods. Click here to download the "Boxes of Hope" list, which identifies household items that Kentucky Refugee Ministries uses in setting up new apartments. This is an easy and fun way to organize and participate in a one-time project welcoming refugee families by helping to supply their basic needs. This list can be printed front/back and stuffed in a bulletin, passed around to classes or small groups, or set out to be picked up next to the morning coffee in your fellowship hall or workplace. The items can then be brought to KRM's office at  ???, or arrangements can be made for the items to be picked up at a central location by phoning Gaby Salazar at 479-9180, extension 15.

Replenishing these supplies is a great project for a faith community, a class or for families that are “downsizing.” Your donations fill an immediate need and are greatly appreciated by those who have been traveling for days. Through your generosity, families are able to resettle into furnished apartments and begin to rebuild the new lives for which they have been hoping.
