Loading...Doris Marmion, 99, the widow of the late Rt. Rev. C. Gresham Marmion, who was the Diocese of Kentucky's fifth bishop, died Saturday, May 28, at the Episcopal Church Home in Louisville.
The Marmions moved to Kentucky in 1954, the year Bishop Marmion was consecrated as bishop. Mrs. Marmion, a native of Houston, Texas, and graduate of Rice University, served for many years on the board of the Family and Children's Agency and the Women's Board of the Episcopal Church Home and directed the food services at Church Church Cathedral. She also was a member of the cathedral's Women's Endowment Association and the Woman's Club of Louisville.
Her survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Beverley Marmion, of Louisville; Sally Marmion Seiler and her husband Roger, of South Nyack, N.Y.; Dana Marmion and her husband, Kent Breidenstein, of Bellevue, Wash.; and her grandchildren, Winston Seiler, of Bakersfield, Calif., and Diana Seiler, of Rosendale, N.Y.
Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. (ET) Wednesday, June 2, at St. Luke's Chapel at the Episcopal Church Home, 7504 Westport Road, followed by the funeral service at 4 p.m. at the chapel. Burial of her ashes will be at St. Francis in the Fields Church, 5710 Wolf Pen Branch Road, Harrod's Creek.
