"Local police and hospitals called and made pleas for help," said CEO Anne Veno. "We knew there were seniors who had nowhere to turn, and opened our doors to them. In addition to a comfortable bed and three tasty, hot meals a day, we provide on-site access to church services, activities, companionship, a gift shop, and even a beauty salon!"
"I didn't know what to do. When the Home called and said, 'We have a room ready and waiting for me, I was just thrilled,'" said a beaming Helen Browning, a long-term volunteer and donor. She is among friends who came in from the cold, including Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Hardy, two strong donors at The Episcopal Church Home (pictured in the home's dining room).
The Home recently added Respite Care for seniors to its wide array of residential living options. It is used by caregivers who, because of personal circumstances such as vacations or illness, temporarily cannot take care of a loved one. Respite Care fees are charged on daily based on services required by the individual.
