Loading...Clergy, ministers, chaplains and seminarians are invited to a seminar sponsored by the Norton Healthcare Office of Church and Health Ministries on "End-of-life Care: A Perspective for Clergy."
The seminar will be held Thursday, April 28, 2011, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, 830 Phillips Lane, Louisville (40209). Registration will begin at 8:30 am. and the program at 9 a.m. (EDT). It will end 3:45 (EDT).
New and seasoned clergy have a unique opportunity to learn how to be better prepared to care for congregants and their families when someone is dying. Nationally known professional chaplain Rev. Dr. Martha R. Jacobs will share her insights and experiences about how to help individuals and families find meaning and peace in the inevitable passage of life and to experience a "good death." Medical professionals will discuss the physiological stages of death and provide insight into end-of-life issues. A behavioral health expert will guide participants through sometimes difficult conversations about death and dying. Legal and other end-of-life documents also will be reviewed.
