The Dioceses of Kentucky and Lexington will host a joint conference in Lexington on August 13, 2011 for Christian educators involved in programs for children, youth and adults.
The keynote speaker for the full-day conference will be Sharon Eli Pearson, Christian formation specialist for Church Publishing who has had 10 years experience in children's ministries and served as the Christian education coordinator for the Diocese of Connecticut.
The workshop agenda will include programs led Pearson and other leaders of Christian formation programs, including the Rev. Amy Coultas, canon missioner for young adult ministries in the Diocese of Kentucky; the Rev. Lois Howard, deacon to the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection, a Godly Play trainer and a Christian formation leader in the Diocese of Lexington; Tracy Hitzer, a creative, nationally known Christian educator who advocates for lifelong Christian learning and the vital role of children and teens in the church, and the importance of prayer; Brian Peterson with Episcopal Relief and Development; and the Rev. Lauren Villemuer, a Lexington deacon who has been involved in youth and children's programs for 25 years.
