Diocesan-wide invitation to the Great Easter Vigil

Diocesan News & Publications

The Very Rev. Mark Bourlakas and congregation of Christ Church Episcopal Cathedral in Louisville have invited all congregations in the Diocese of Kentucky to join them and Bishop Terry White for the Great Vigil of Easter on Saturday evening, April 24. A note from the bishop about the service follows.

It will be a great privilege to preside and preach for the first time at the Great Vigil of Easter at the Cathedral. Dean Mark Bourlakas extends an invitation to all the congregations of the diocese to participate in this liturgy, and further invites you to present candidates for Baptism, Confirmation, Reception, and Reaffirmation. Know what a joy it will be for me to light the New Fire and hear the record of God's saving acts, renew our Baptismal Covenant, celebrate Holy Baptism and commitment to the Risen Christ, and share in the first Eucharist of Easter with the faithful from throughout our diocese on this holiest of nights. As soon as you know that you will have candidates to present, please contact the dean.
