Christian formation expert will lead workshop

Sharon Ely Pearson, who became the first Christian formation specialist with Church Publishing last November, will lead a workshop for Christian educators on Saturday, Feb. 9, at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, 330 N. Hubbards Lane, in Louisville. Pearson has more than 30 years experience in Christian formation work, which includes 10 yeas as the Children’s Ministries and Christian Education coordinator for the Episcopal Diocese of Connecticut.  She holds a master’s degree in Christian Education from Virginia Seminary.

The workshop, which will include lunch, will meet from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. (EST).  Participants will explore various types of curricula ranging from lectionary-based to the Rotation Model and will learn how to discern and select curriculum for Christian education programs.
