Loading...Christ Church Cathedral, 421 S. Second St., in downtown Louisville will host an evening Advent Service of Lessons and Carols on Sunday December 12.
Beginning at 5 p.m. (EST), the Cathedral Choir leads the service under the direction of Canon Robert L. Bozeman, cathedral musician. Bishop Terry Allen White will officiate.
Nine lessons are read followed by congregational hymns, and anthems by composers Larry Palmer, Boris Ord, Healey Willian, Phillip Dietterich, Mark Sirett, Richard Burchard and Franz Biebl.
Dr. Stephen Mattingly, guitar, will join Bozeman in performing "God Is Our Righteousness" for guitar and organ by Chris DeBlasio. This piece was written for an Advent observance at Union Theological Seminary and allows a quiet time of reflection before the service begins.
