Bach Society Concert marks Feast of Epiphany

The Louisville Bach Society will mark the Feast of the Epiphany with its second subscription concert Sunday, Jan. 7, at Calvary Episcopal Church.

The concert will begin at 3 p.m. (EST). Calvary is located at 821 S. Fourth St. in Louisville.

Guest artist Randall Black will be the featured tenor soloist in Cantatas 65 and 95. Organist Margaret Dickinson will also be showcased in the Rheinberger Organ Concerto No. 1.

Other choral works will include two pieces for double choir: Singet dem Herrn by Heinrich Schutz and a setting of Hodie Christus Natus Est by Giovanni Gabrielli. Music director Melvin Dickinson will visit 20th century music with a performance of Singet Frisch und Wohlgemut by Hugo Distler, based on the carol "Joseph Dearest, Joseph Mine."

Mary Wilson Redden and Alexander Redden will also be soloists.
