Audio of the bishop's annual address to the 179th diocesan convention

From today's reading from Acts:

So they proposed two, Joseph called Barnabas, who was also known as Justus, and Matthias ...
and they cast lots for them and the lot fell on Matthias. -- Acts 1:23&25.

Ever since the result of the elections for Presiding Bishop, I have found myself increasingly devoted to St. Justus, the one not chosen. As I have told so many of you, my response was relief, release, my life given back as gift and an increasing appreciation of the fact that I have a job suited to me: my gifts, my limitations, and a job that allows me to use the shaping experience of 34 years of ordained ministry.
