Advent/Christmas Services, Other Calendar Items

Congregations throughout the diocese are hosting special Advent, Christmas and Epiphany services and events this month and next. Following are details about events at a few of our congregations that have informed us about their plans through their newsletters and other announcements.

Calvary Episcopal Church, 821 S. Fourth St., Louisville: The Greening at Calvary, Sunday, Dec. 23, follows the 11 a.m. service; Christmas Eve, Monday, Dec. 24, 4 p.m. Holy Eucharist I; 9:30 p.m. Service of Light, followed by music for choir and orchestra, and Holy Eucharist II, beginning about 10 p.m.; Feast of the Epiphany, Sunday, Jan. 6, 9 a.m. service.

Christ Church Episcopal Cathedral, 421 S. Second St., Louisville: Christmas Eve, Monday, Dec. 24, 6 p.m., Holy Eucharist with organ and choir (nursery care available for children age 3 and under); 10:30 p.m., Prelude with orchestra, organ and choir,  followed by the 11 p.m. Festival Eucharist; Christmas Day, Tuesday, Dec. 25, 10 a.m. Holy Eucharist. 

St. Alban's Episcopal Church, Beulah Church Road at Fern Creek Road, Louisville:  Advent 4 Sunday, Dec. 23, 10:45 a.m. Lessons and Carols with Holy Eucharist; Christmas Eve, Monday, Dec. 24, 10:30 p.m., Christmas music by the St. Alban's Churchestra and Choir followed by the 11 p.m. Festive Eucharist; Christmas Day Service, Tuesday, Dec. 25, 10 a.m. family service with Holy Eucharist; Sunday after Christmas (Christmas Cookie Sunday), Dec. 30, 10:45 a.m. Holy Eucharist with Dr. Barry Ross, preacher, and Rev. Aaron Paul Collins, celebrant.  

Christ Church, Bowling Green: OnEphiphany, Jan.6, Christ Church will host an Epiphany pageant and chili cook-off.
