St. Francis in the Fields Episcopal Church announces plans for two adult forum classes that will be offered on Sunday mornings in May: a May 1 program about the Congressional Medal of Honor and the 85 living recipients, and a May 8 presentation about St. Timothy's Outreach Center at Barnes Mountain in eastern Kentucky.
Each program will begin at 10 a.m. (EDT) in Graves Hall at the church, located at 6710 Wolf Pen Branch Road at the northwest corner of Wolf Pen Branch and U.S. 42.
The May 1 program will be presented by Connie Clark Baker, co-chair of the 2011 Louisville Congressional Medal of Honor Society Convention. She will speak about the 85 living Medal of Honor Recipients, provide information about the September 2011 convention, and share reflections of the personal sacrifice and service that these heroes and all of our military and families have made for our country.
The Rev. Bryant Kibler, missioner to St. Timothy's on Barnes Mountain, will speak at the May 8 forum. He will speak about his work in Appalachia and update parishioners St. Timothy's ministry. St Francis has had a long and fruitful relationship with St. Timothy's, and the annual Thanksgiving craft fair and Advent food drive has been a blessed holiday tradition in the life of the parish.
