Loading...Doris Settles, a Lexington technology author who speaks extensively for national, regional and local organizations, has been invited to give a presentation Jan. 13 at St. Francis in the Fields Church on how parents' may help their teenagers use digital technology responsibly.
Settles was the keynote speaker at the 2008 and 2009 National Youth at Risk Conference and also served on the National Association of Attorney's General 2007 Task Force on Internet Safety.
Her presentation is not designed to scare parents but rather to inform and equip them with practical tips to help their teenagers become "responsible digital citizens." The two-hour session will begin at 6 p.m. (ET) at the Harrods Creek church, located at 6710 Wolf Pen Branch Road in eastern Jefferson County.
The $20 fee includes a two-hour interactive presentation, followed by a question period and ending with an applied learning segment using "unforgettable," “real life" scenarios Participants will also receive Settles' newly released book, Virtual Parenting. Another book, Understanding i-Kids: A Workbook for Grownups, will also be available for purchase. C
