Loading...The Sudanese Congregation at Resurrection joins the Louisville area Sudanese Community in sponsoring an event supporting the people of Sudan in the coming elections there next January. Many in the community have family in areas that were subject to violence in 2007 during elections that year. We pray for the upcoming vote and referendum on January 9, 2011. May God's Spirit guide those who work for peace.
At Resurrection Episcopal Church, the entire congregation, including the 35 or more Sudanese members, offer prayer for the Sudan together on Sundays and daily in personal prayer. The entire church stands in solidarity with the people of Sudan.
Please consider this an invitation to come. We follow the spirit and desire of Presiding Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori, to remember and pray for our brothers and sisters in Sudan.
All also are welcome at the Louisville event, which will take place at Cloverleaf Baptist Church, 4401 Manslick Road (40216). Please join us in asking for awareness, continuing prayer, and support concerning the upcoming voting and referendum. The service will include Sudanese speakers and will conclude with the opportunity for all clergy present to offer prayers for Sudan.
