Plans are underway for presiding bishop's visit

by Mary Jane Cherry, Communications Director

Planning is underway for a visit May 16-18 by Presiding Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori, including five public events that will take the leader of the Episcopal Church across the western half of Kentucky from Paducah to Louisville.

Picture of Presiding Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori on the day of her investitureTo help prepare for her visit, the next Episcopal News will feature news about the plans as well as some basic information about the presiding bishop and her office.  You don't have to wait, however, for the May issue to arrive in your mail box. Click here to see a pdf of the newspaper's center spread, which is all about Bishop Katharine and her visit.

You will also find a column on that page (right side) with information about the public events (ticketed and non-ticketed).

Check with the clergy at your church before May 1 if you want to receive a ticket to one of the two ticketed events: the speech and conversation with the presiding bishop at St. Matthew's Church, Louisville, on May 16, and a worship service at Resurrection Church, Louisville, on May 18.  After May 1, tickets will then  be made available through the diocesan office to the public.

For additional information, contact the diocesan office at 502-584-7148 or 800-222-3462.
